Alien 1979 Collector's Edition Laserdisc Set. This special digital transfer by director Ridley Scott features the iconic horror film in stunning widescreen and includes a box set for safekeeping. Starring Sigourney Weaver, this futuristic outer space thriller is a must-have for any movie collection. With the added bonus of being a limited edition, this set is perfect for both die-hard fans and collectors alike. Seminal sci-fi flick that made Scott an iconic auteur [next, after The Duellists, from a Joseph Conrad story]. Then Blade Runner and he was off-and-running himself, with always interesting story choices, if not always critics' or audiences' faves. But this feature made for his 40 years plus career, with 'alien' stories throughout, though the ship-board androids were a close second as humans' antagonists. Got Aliens and Alien no. 3 on offer. Item is from a recently cleared-out storage locker, in a climate-controlled building, where it had been, untouched, since 2007. Part of a trove of 500+ LDs, most of which are NEW OLD STOCK - never opened, which l will be listing in the coming months. Prior to being stored, item had been in a no-smoking and no-pet premises. Item kept properly: discs in envelopes and box/sleeve, upright, ie, not stacked. Discs and box/sleeve in basically like new condition. Shipping will be by mail in a record box made with extra-strong corrugated cardboard and limited to North America, because NTSC is the playback/colour mode.
