Slovakia 1 Romania 1 – The Briefing
Romania and Slovakia came into their final game knowing that a draw would take them both through to the last 16 but the match did not begin sedately.
There were 11 shots in the opening 25 minutes and the 11th resulted in a Slovakia goal — via a powerful header from Ondrej Duda. But by half-time Romania were level, thanks to an equally emphatic penalty from Razvan Marin.
The two sides continued to exchange blows into the second half, in a game further enlivened by lightning, heavy rain and one of the themes of the summer — a questionable pitch.
Below, The Athletic's Carl Anka, Matt Slater and Jay Harris break down the key moments from Frankfurt.
Everyone's loving it
Both sets of fans are freed from desire!!!

Limbs in Frankfurt
Scenes!
Romania's players are fans are going nuts... they know they're through... have they topped the group?
Other game isn't over, right? Slovakia look less certain. But they've worked it out now!
Joy all around
That's amazing, BOTH dugouts empty in celebration of making it out of the groups.
Romania certainly the happier collection, having topped the group.

They look like they're going to top the group.
The Romania subs are bouncing up and down in celebration!
So close to a mythical finish

Could we get the mythical 4-4-4-4 Group Stage finish?
We haven't seen one at a major men's football competition since USA '94!
On the brink of eruption
Both teams going through at the moment...
If everything stays like this, we're going to erupt!
Lock-in in Frankfurt!
A message has just flashed up on the big screen.
"Due to the adverse weather conditions, the fan zone is closed. The stadium concessions will remain open."
We are having a lock-in!!!!!!!
Duda now booked too
90+1' Slovakia 1-1 Romania
Poor tackle from Ondrej Duda, the goalscorer, who slid in recklessly on Dennis Man, and caught him.
The ref plays a good advantage, seeing if Romania keep it, but they don't and he goes back and books Duda.
Duda now down with cramp. He's taken off, too, along with Peter Pekarik, the 37-year-old.
Coming on are Matus Bero and Norbert Gyomber respectively.

Into the 90th minute...
90' Slovakia 1-1 Romania
The clock ticks over past the 90.
Three minutes of added time.
The crowd roars, beseeching their teams to find a winner.
Fouls disrupting the tempo
A nasty challenge from Romania's George Puscas on Milan Škriniar lets the air out of the balloon a little bit.
Both teams want to win, but their ability to act on it is dwindling.
Too many fouls, not enough football.
Puscas booked
88' Slovakia 1-1 Romania
Former Reading striker George Puscas is booked for a high foot on Milan Skriniar, accidentally catching the strapping defender on the hip with his studs.
Poor old Skriniar has been in the wars today.
Has the storm passed?

I say this tentatively... but has the storm passed, the one outside and the one in here?
The last 10 minutes have just been the mistakes we had before but without all the good bits, too.
Still time, though.
