Does G7 work with xDrip? ›

G5, G6, ONE and G7

You can add xDrip+ to your current setup and select Companion app to have xDrip+ read BG from the vendor app notifications (G5, G6, G7, ONE).

Answer: Yes, your sensor is designed to get wet and can be comfortably worn while swimming, showering, or exercising. The Dexcom G6 and G7 sensors are water-resistant and may be submerged under 8 feet of water for up to 24 hours without failure when properly installed.

The new Dexcom G7 app, available for both iOS and Android, continuously communicates with the Dexcom G7 sensor so you can see your glucose numbers right on your Apple or Android smart phone or smart watch in real time.

You cannot connect xDrip+ and Dexcom app with the transmitter at the same time! If you need Clarity and want to profit from xDrip+ features, use the Build Your Own Dexcom App with local broadcast to xDrip+, or use xDrip+ as a Companion app receiving notifications from the official Dexcom app.

It supports wireless connections to G4, G5, G6, One, One+, G7, CareSens Air, Libre via NFC and Bluetooth, Aidex, Guardian, Simplera, Medtronic pumps, Eversense CGM, Libre 2 and 3, Sibionics via companion apps.

Free samples for both Dexcom G6 and G7 are available for most people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and have a commercial health insurance plan. People on a government health plan (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, VA, etc.) are not eligible for the free sample program at this time.

Where to insert — Dexcom G7 sensors may be inserted on the back of the upper arm (indicated for users ages 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-6 years old). Don't wear your Dexcom G7 sensor on other sites as it may not work as expected.

Can you sleep on your Dexcom G7? ›

If using the app, consider setting up a second alert profile to sleep uninterrupted (unless you go low) by turning off any alerts that aren't essential for you. You can create a second alert profile in Profile > Alerts > Add Second Alert Profile.

Answer: If you have Realtime Sensors (Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 or Libre 3): You can use the realtime CGM app without internet as long as it's still connected to bluetooth (e.g. airplane mode with bluetooth on still works), but it will not be transferred to the Levels app until you get internet connection again.

Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. (Nasdaq: TNDM) and Dexcom, Inc. (Nasdaq: DXCM), today announced that the Tandem Mobi insulin pump with Control-IQ technology is now fully compatible with both the Dexcom G7 and Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems.

With Dexcom G7, there is no separate transmitter needed. Each box contains 1 sensor that will last for 10 days, so each monthly prescription should include 3 boxes. If patients opt to use a compatible smart device, only dispense the sensor boxes.

The new Dexcom G7 receiver is indicated as optional so patients do not need to purchase the receiver if they are going to use their compatible smartphone as their display device. If patients would like a receiver as an alternate display option, they will need to purchase the newly redesigned G7 receiver.
